Company of Heroes 2 First Trailer

The first trailer for Company of Heroes 2 has been released today, after taking away 7 awards at E3, including Best PC Game from G4 X-Play and Machinima, and being nominated for 18 more.


Michael Lustenberger, THQ's Vice President of Global Brand Management - Online commented, “The original Company of Heroes set a lofty standard and we are delighted that the sequel can now join it as a multiple-award winner coming out of E3. What we showed press was just a taste of what is still to come with this title.”

The trailer does not show gameplay footage, but seems to be taking a different approach to showing war than most games (*shameless plug alert* which is similar to something I've discussed previously). It'll be interesting to see whether this approach is prominent in the actual gameplay.

The original Company of Heroes was released in 2006 to critical acclaim and is currently the highest rated strategy title (with more than five reviews) on Gamerankings.com with an average of 93.82% based on 56 reviews. The game features similar acclaim on Metacritic.com with a Metascore of 93% based on 55 reviews.

Company of Heroes 2 is scheduled to be available for PC in early 2013. More information is available on the game's website.
